Role Description

Extrastaff are currently seeking an experienced Draftsperson for a full-time permanent role based on the Sunshine Coast.
 
This role is working with a company providing conveyor guarding and spillage solutions to ports and the mining, process, sugar and power generation industries.
 
Our client is a specialist manufacturer of industrial conveyor improvement products and a market leader in the area.  The role of the draftsperson will be to design bespoke, manufacture-ready components that meet the requirements of the company’s client base.
 
The essential duties and responsibilities for this position include:
  • Action work requests from the sales personnel of the company’s resellers
  • Liaise with clients to gain further information of job requirements
  • Produce concept designs as required
  • Conduct onsite project measuring as required
  • Produce detailed drawings for manufacture
  • Assist with quoting
  • Assist with site installation
  • Maintain a safe working environment
 
The successful applicant will possess the following skills and experience:
  • Strong hand sketching skills
  • Minimum 3 Years industrial drafting experience using AutoCAD at an advanced level
  • A willingness to work outside normal work hours of 8am to 5pm as required
  • A willingness to travel and work away from home up to 7 nights a month
  • A clear understanding of workflows and the system impact of those workflows
  • Excellent verbal, written and communication skills
  • Strong skills in the use of the MS Office Suite
 
 
It is also desirable to hold or have the ability to attain, the following:
  • Cert IV in Computer Drafting – AutoCAD
  • Experience in the use of the Solidworks drawing package
  • Trade Background
     
    On commencement, the successful applicant will be required to work from the Mackay Office for a period of 2-3 weeks for induction and training purposes.
