Role Description





Our client provides apprentice labour hire solutions to the construction industry, across Australia. They continuously work to achieve a safe, productive and quality-led environment for both customers and personnel.

Position Description


Ensure the successful expansion of business development activities promoting partnerships with clients leading to growth in sales and client apprenticeship / trainee placements.




General Statements


Develop and implement a business and sales plan to promote client partnership and learning worker placements within the Construction Industry in conjunction with the Executive Director, in line with short term and long term business objectives

Identify and assess short and long term needs, trends, challenges and sales opportunities

Contribute to establishing and reviewing objectives, programs, standards and targets within guidelines set by the Board.
Prepare regular reports and forecasts for approval by the Executive Director




Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities


•Develop and implement a business and sales plan to promote client partnership and learning worker placements in conjunction with the Executive Director, in line with short term and long term business objectives

•Communicate and work co-operatively with the Productivity Bootcamp managers and team leaders to achieve positive outcomes for graduates from Productivity Bootcamp

•Seek opportunities for suitable Productivity Bootcamp graduates to be engaged through the company as learning workers within the Construction Industry

•Identify and assess short and long term needs, trends, challenges and sales opportunities

•Responsible for sales and assigned marketing activities

•Meet agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPI)

•Develop business proposals to encourage employers to hire

•Assist with tender response preparation


•Work with industry associations and other key stakeholders to build strategic partnerships to grow and build awareness of Productivity Bootcamp

•Assist in the development of separate case studies to help promote across the full scope of opportunities (eg subcontract work, crews, labour hire)
•Business development will include networking events through to cold calling - this includes but is not limited to contacting a designated number of new businesses/ perspective employers per month as agreed with Executive Director to ensure a pipeline of opportunities is maintained.

•Provide weekly reporting on agreed objects and revenue targets to Executive Director

•Complete monthly Business Development and Partnership report to be submitted to Executive Director for inclusion in Board reports

•Attend network events

•Attend Board meetings as required

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Competencies


•Demonstrable service-oriented approach, enthusiastic, motivated, positive attitude, strong ethical behaviour, good initiative and self-starter qualities

•Proven ability to meet sales targets

•Sales and business development experience

•Must have and maintain a current relevant (eg New South Wales) Driver's Licence

•Ideally have an understanding of the Australian Apprentice, Trainee and Group Training Organisation (GTO) systems

•Ability to deal with clients at all levels and translate client needs into a complete solution

•Sound negotiation and influencing skills

•Strong business acumen and business reporting skills

•Excellent verbal and written communication skills

•Attention to detail and ability to see tasks through to conclusion

•Ability to work autonomously and within a team

•Ability to maintain confidentiality required by the position at all times

•Effective organisational, administration and time management skills

•Ability to meet Working With Children Check requirements
