Role Description

Our client is your local supplier of production solutions for the Electronics Manufacturing and Wire Processing Industry.

They source the world's best and most suitable production solutions for the Australasian manufacturing market. Their more then 35 years of experience and understanding of clients needs in this challenging market will help to reduce manufacturing cost and increase the first pass yield.

They are currently looking for a NSW Sales Rep, reporting to the Managing Director.

JOB FUNCTION BRIEF
To develop and to maintain a customer base within sales area NSW/ACT. To achieve agreed sales and profit targets and to remain within budgetary expenditure limits. To represent the company in accordance with management approved guidelines.

PRINCIPAL OBJECTIVES
  1. To work to budgeted sales targets and ensure that these goals are met.
  2. To represent the company in the approved and agreed manner.
  3. To enhance the company image by addressing customer related issues quickly and efficiently.
  4. To recognise opportunities and risks for the company and to take steps to either take advantage or avoid these as appropriate.
  5. To set and enforce an agreed Office standard, which encompasses attitude, presentation, technical expertise and efficiency of the Area team.
  6. To cooperate with other Areas and Management to compare experiences and to share resources if and when necessary.
  7. To ensure that the servicing functions are carried out to the satisfaction of the customers.
  8. To carry out Sales activities for certain products and be responsible for achieving these targets.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
(1)Sales Activities
  • To set weekly customer visit targets for sales staff.
  • Ensure that weekly plans include new customers and cold calls.
  • To regularly visit important customers for all product groups.
  • To report on large projects and to liaise with Managing Director and Technical Support in order to secure such orders.
  • To work with other sales staff in their efforts to win orders.
  • To seek information about competitors' activities and to share this information with other Areas.
  • To liaise with other Sales Areas on projects which cross territorial boundaries.
  • To review visit reports with sales staff and to ensure these are followed up.

(2)Customer Service Functions
  1. To establish a means to ensure that customers receive proper attention.
  2. To make regular check up calls on customers to establish our professionalism.
  3. Ensure that customer's problems are attended to quickly and efficiently.

(4)Sales Promotion
  1. Propose and plan for regular in-house shows
  2. Assist the sales staff in organising such shows
  3. Plan and arrange for demonstrations of equipment before final delivery to customers.
  4. If and where appropriate entertain customers.

(5) Administrative Activities
  • Prepare reports for management as instructed.
  • Attend Management Meetings as set down.
  • Attend any training meetings as set down
  • Ensure that debtors are collected timely if they fall over 60 days.
  • To ensure that company property is looked after properly.
  • Participate in industry shows or exhibitions as required.
  • Be aware of company policy, and support the same.
  • Work with integrity, and promote interest within the industry.
  • Understand and follow administration guide lines both for presentation purposes and to ensure efficient running of the organisation.


(6)Service activities
  • To ensure that our contractual service obligations can be fulfilled at all times.
  • To ensure they receive proper training and maintain their degree of expertise.
  • To ensure that the procedures are followed properly.

QUALIFIED BY
Demonstrated managerial skills in the areas of technical sales and administration. A tertiary qualification in a technical or administrative discipline, or a mechanical or electrical trade background or experience is desired. Proven knowledge in the electronics manufacturing industry is a necessity.
