Role Description

Our client, Australia's leading manufacturer of fine Asian cuisine has been successfully servicing the Australian Grocery and Food Service channels nationally and overseas for over 40 years.
A rare opportunity has presented itself for a Demand Planner based in the Parramatta area.

Reporting to the Operations manager your responsibilities will include

Assist the Operations Manager by:
• Leading by example.
• Developing and maintain a structured MRP plan
• Implement and document a robust MRP plan
• Leading and developing the shop floor controllers
• Monitoring machine and people performance.
• Delegating responsibilities where appropriate as per the production plan.
• Directing staff as instructed by the Operations Manager.
• Assisting in identifying skills gaps and training needs.
• Identifying cross learning and job rotation opportunities.
• Ensuring activities are carried out in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Encouraging staff to provide input to improve efficiency and effectiveness of work practices, policies and procedures.
• Ensuring safe work practices.

Demand Forecasting and Planning
Work with Sales & Marketing and Customer Service to ensure Sales & Marketing activities that may affect demand are reflected in the sales forecast.
Develop and maintain monthly sales forecasts of finished goods at DC level on a regular basis.
Develop and maintain the monthly Master Production Schedule for raw materials, packaging and finished goods at DC level on a regular basis.

Develop and maintain weekly production plan and Inter-branch transfers (IBTs) to meet demand at DC level.

Co-ordinate and liaise with Purchasing and external suppliers to monitor and maintain purchase orders to ensure raw materials and packaging, for manufacturing purposes, as well as finished goods are available at DC level to plan.

Liaise with Warehouse and DCs to monitor and ensure stock levels are accurate.

Implement and design a robust MRP plan. Ensure the business has a MRP plan that captures the processes required for the wider business

Assist to monitor and provide input to Operations Manager and/or Production Team Leaders
Assist to monitor and provide input to Operations Manager and/or Maintenance Team Leader to ensure Maintenance systems and procedures are in place

Warehouse (including Finished Goods, Dry Goods, Raw Materials and Packaging) Liaise with and provide input to Operations Manager and/or Warehouse Team Leaders to ensure Production related Warehouse systems and procedures are in place

Product Development Work with Product Development to ensure new products and product trials are scheduled into production.

To be considered for this role you should have the following knowledge / experience
• HACCP aware and compliant.
• Tertiary education, with relevant study in MRP (material requirement planning), manufacturing, business administration, quality assurance or food science.
• WH&S aware and compliant.
• Computer literate.
