Role Description

Our client has been operating in the fire protection market for over 15 years and has established themselves as one of the leading fire protection contractors in NSW, operating heavily across construction projects as well as also holding a number of key service contracts.
Due to continued growth in this business they are now looking to employ an energetic Project Manager in Fire Protection on a permanent basis to manage numerous projects.


The role of Project Manager creates an important link between the estimating & project delivery activities. Determines project goals that support the objectives and strategies. Develops detailed project plans which include requirements, scope, deliverables, budget and schedules. Executes project and manages risks that effect the delivery of project outcomes.


Maintain an effective and efficient leadership of each job site.
• Ensure a highly focused, solution oriented, team culture exists on the project.
• Receive and act on instructions from Senior Management or representatives of government and statutory authorities.
• Ensure all work carried out meets the needs of the client and Company, focusing on client satisfaction at all times.
• Ensure arrangements have been made for all relevant authority inspections during suitable stages of the works.
• Maintain work programs in accordance with planned schedules. Re-organize where necessary, to minimize delays and reduce costs. Report immediately any delays through causes, which are beyond site control.
• Communication is maintained between site activities and management. Appropriate records of site activities are maintained at all times.
• Provide information as needed for costing purposes.
• Manage job site(s) ensuring maximum labour utilization is being achieved efficiently.
• Relevant quantities and measures are kept in order for progress claims to be made.
• Contract variations are prepared and submitted on time.
• Implement all on site design and construct procedures as required.
• Attendance at all project site meetings.
• Manage onsite programming and budget control.
• Ensure the Workplace Health and Safety Act, regulations and Code of Practice and applicable Australian Standards are upheld.
• Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with current drawings, specifications and instructions and the Company's Quality Assurance System.
• Supervise and control sub-contractors.
• Ensure control is kept of on-site plant and equipment (maintenance and hire.)
• Maintain the security of the site to prevent damage or loss and provide all necessary safeguards to protect the public from injury.
• In the event of accidents, take all necessary action for treatment and care of the injured persons. Make reports as necessary to meet insurance requirements and to comply with government regulations.
• Ensure Safety Management plan is being implemented on site including review of plan with site staff as required and development of required Safe Work Method Statements.

Experience required:

• 2+ years' experience in managing projects
• The ability to lead a team of tradesmen and Supervisors
• Fire industry experience a must.
• Strong knowledge of Australian standards within Fire
• Capabilities to manage and develop a team
• Strong time management and communication skills
